You can fight acne naturally.
Acne can be so troublesome for so many people. Even adults still find themselves breaking out. So I put together a simple recipe to help find some relief from those horrendous breakouts.
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor a certified aromatherapist. Please use your essential oils with caution. Read full disclaimer here.
You may not have all these ingredients on hand and that’s ok, use what you do have but the tea tree oil, the safflower oil and the witch hazel are essential to see serious benefits. I’ve detailed each of the ingredients below.
There are tons of reasons that people experience breakouts. From stress, to hormones to not having a good skin care regimen. This all-natural acne remedy should provide some relief and hopefully get you on your way to clearer skin.
The ingredients in this recipe have proven benefits for all skin types. Each oil is nourishing and effective to give you great results.
Safflower oil is rated 0 on the comedogenic scale which means it will not clog pores. Now this only pertains to safflower oil with a high linoleic index. It can actually assist in breaking up blackheads and impurities.
It’s easily absorbed and feels silky on the skin. You can also use safflower oil with a high oleic index to promote hair growth. It has been shown to improve the circulation and strengthen hair follicles.
Hemp Seed Oil
Hemp Seed oil has so many amazing benefits. It’s a very gentle oil, perfect for those with sensitive skin, therefore, it’s used in many soaps and facial products. It’s excellent for clearing up eczema and balancing out the skin’s oil production. It’s moisturizing and helps prevent breakouts while also helping to clear them up.
Witch hazel is ultimately known for its astringent qualities. It’s useful in balancing the skin while not irritating it. Many people use witch hazel as an every day toner to shrink pores. It can be applied alone or with other products.
This wonderful liquid is collected from a shrub or small tree and has many medicinal uses such an inflammation reduction and eczema relief. One of the number one uses besides facial products is for easing the pain of hemorrhoids.
Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea Tree (Melaleuca) essential oil has numerous benefits including the topical application for acne. Read my full post on tea tree essential oil here. This oil provides relief from skin irritations such as acne, eczema, and rashes.
It also has antiviral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immuno-stimulant properties. It’s excellent for use in the bath or a diffuser.
Geranium Essential Oil
Geranium essential oil is fabulous for the skin due to its comforting and calming qualities. It’s very effective for acne and inflammation. It blends well with the other oils in this recipe as an all around super beneficial oil.
It’s been used to help balance hormones, alleviate stress and calm the mind. It’s generally nontoxic and non-irritating.
Lavender Essential Oil
(Click a pic to share!)
Lavender essential oil has to be one of my favorite essential oils. It’s so varied in its applications, it truly is a universal essential oil. The benefits include calming the skin and mind, alleviating stress, purifying the skin and it can be used as a disinfectant.
Lavender essential oil can be applied topically alone (please use caution) or with a carrier oil. It’s used in aromatherapy, diffusers, baths, body products and lamp rings.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense essential oil is one of the more expensive oils but it’s absolutely worth it. This oil is an anti-inflammatory, an antiseptic, an astringent and much more.
It’s native to the Red Sea region and some additional benefits include tightening the skin, helping to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Possible reduction of acne and scars.
Sweet Orange essential oil is another favorite of mine. It smells delicious and has super beneficial qualities. Not only is it uplifting to the mind, it also calms the mind and has been known to help to reduce anxiety.
The applications for the skin include a fungicidal, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Please use caution with this particular oil when exposed to sunlight.

It is possible to heal the skin naturally. It might take a little longer but at least you know you’re not putting any additional toxic products on your skin or in your body.
With that being said there are times when you do need an expert opinion and doctor prescribed medicine but if you’re like me, you’ll try it naturally first.
In addition to the daily use of this blend, I highly recommend lots of water, whole foods, and cleansing your skin twice daily to keep your skin healthy and hydrated. Wishing you the best for your skin.
