Have you been looking for an easy DIY face scrub made for sensitive skin?
Then look no further because I’ve got you covered. If you have sensitive skin and need an every day gentle facial scrub with natural ingredients, then you’re going to love this recipe. It’s super easy to make and leaves your skin feeling soft and clean.
Sensitive skin is something I’m no stranger to. And if I’m not careful I break out with over use of products. Put your hands up if you can relate.
Maybe it’s the inevitable journey of getting older that causes my skin to roar up in protest or maybe it’s just hormones. Whatever the case, I needed a solution that didn’t actually cause more skin problems.

And since I’m a lover of all things natural, I knew there had to be something that was effective yet not harsh or irritating to the skin. And this amazing gentle facial scrub is exactly what my sensitive skin needed.
This formula is great for sensitive skin, mature skin, dry skin and even oily skin.
The skin on our face needs a delicate touch. Our faces are typically the first thing people see and when you suffer with skin issues, it can really affect your self-esteem.
This easy DIY facial scrub is one of the most simple soothing face scrubs you’ll ever use. It’s made with skin-loving jojoba beads. These little tiny beads scrub away dead skin so gently and effectively, they’ve become a new favorite in my beauty product arsenal.
Jojoba beads are derived from jojoba oil which is derived from the Jojoba shrub. They are transformed into a solid wax and formed into a super tiny bead.
They are a perfect choice for those with sensitive skin due to their spherical shape. This shape helps prevent microscopic tears. The informative Soap Queen has an entire spotlight article on jojoba beads, click here to read.

Jojoba beads come in many colors
In addition, they are relatively inexpensive, can be used in a variety of products and a little goes a long way. I got mine from CandleLynnSupplies through Etsy for less than $7.
The other wonderful ingredients in the gentle facial scrub are aloe vera gel, safflower oil, essential oils and glycerin which is optional. I just enjoy the smooth feeling it gives my skin.
I have the found the aloe vera to be refreshing, softening and a bit skin tightening all at the same time. I will say that not all aloe vera is created equal and this brand is the one I use and recommend.
Actually, my husband will use this aloe vera gel when he gets poison oak which seems like all the time. I promise you he can just look at poison oak through a window across the street and get it. It’s crazy. But he says this gel provides some relief.
The essentials oils I added to this recipe are Tea Tree, Lavender and Frankincense. Tea Tree essential oil is fantastic at fighting acne and considered an antibacterial while Lavender essential oil has anti-depressant and antiseptic properties. Frankincense essential oil is excellent for fighting aging.
I also added vegetable based glycerin that I picked up at my local hobby lobby.
This recipe yields quite a bit and you don’t need much to get the job done so it should last you many months. I’ve been using it daily, sometimes twice a day and I’ve had no adverse affects. I hope you enjoy.
3 oz Aloe Vera Gel
1/2 Tbsp Caledula-infused Safflower oil (or non-infused)
1/4 Tsp Jojoba Beads
1 drop Tea Tree Essential Oil
1 drop Lavender Essential Oil
1 drop Frankincense Essential Oil
1/4-1/2 Tsp Vegetable Glycerin (optional)
– Combine all ingredients. Apply to face once daily, preferably at night. Gently scrub face and rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with toner and moisturizer if desired. Avoid excess heat. Can be stored in the refrigerator.
This amazing formula scrubs and cleans gently while softening at the same time.
I truly hope you love this gentle facial scrub as much as I do. Your feedback is super important to me so if you make this recipe, could you take a moment and let me know what you think in the comment section below?
